The
lids on the Ideal sliders are made out of stainless steel. Ideals
machines also came in several colors choices. The colors were Oven Baked Red,
White, Blue, Green, Bright Yellow, and Orange. Also in addiction to vending Soda
bottles the Ideal machines also were made to vend milk, juice, and other drinks. | Produced
in the mid 1950's by the Ideal company the Ideal 35 was original sold as either
a cola or milk vendor - Yes I said milk. The only difference between the milk
and cola versions were the rack assembly and coin mechs. Unlike the Ideal 55,
the 35 is not as easy to find and therefore usually fetches as slightly higher
price. Also although the Ideal 55 was produced machines for were 7up, Coke
Cola, Pepsi, Hires, Barqs, Double Cola, Squirt, Rc Cola, Nesbits, Mission Orange,
Canada Dry,Grand Prize, and others. I could be wrong, but it looks like the Ideal
35 mainly came in Coke, Rc Cola, and unembossed brands. Just like the Ideal-55
the Ideal-35 is known as slider because once you deposit a coin you must "slide"
your cola along the rack to release it. Although not a favorite
amongst serious collectors the Ideal 35, just like Ideal-55, makes a great first
machine because it is small, unique, and affordable at around $300 - $1200.00
depending on condition. |
