The
CS-96C was produced by Cavalier corporation from the late 1960's to the early
1970's. This
particular style of machine is known as a "Slant Shelf" vendor because
it uses slanted shelves to vend its drinks. This of course makes this machine
not only collectible, but also functional since it can vend many different types
of refresments in various bottle sizes. The
style of machine is known by collectors as a "Square Corner" because
the top does not have rounded corners like many of the older machines. Several
years ago "Square Corner" machines were typically passed up by most
collectors and completely ignored. Today these machines are more popular than
ever and have started to rise sharply in value. The main reason for the quick
turnaround is due to the fact that the older round corner machines are in limited
supply, are real expensive, and in some case the drink choices are limited due
to the bottle size restrictions. This has forced collectors and first time buyers
to look at the more affordable, easier to find, square corner machines. Along
with the CS-96C Cavalier also produced the CS-96E, and probably other 96 models.
This is a great looking machine!
