When i was a kid my father had this machine
in his shop. The company he bought it from repainted it
white. When he quit selling soda i brought the machine
home. It's been sitting in my basement ever since. It
was in very good condition when started restoring it.

Disassembly
Disassembled the entire machine & spent alot of time just
cleaning it up.

Sanding Striping
I sanded the cabinet with a d/a sander
|

BodyWork
The louvers on one side had been kicked in so i welded it
& used heat to shrink the stretched blades.I ground out any
rust from inside the cabinet & sprayed it with undercoating.
I used body filler to repair any dents.

MetalWork
I shot the machine with an acrylic primer surfacer & sanded
smooth.

Painting
I shot the white first (dupont centari 6731A ) then masked
it off and shot 2 coats of red (dupont centari 60807A )

EmbossingDecals
I cheated on the embossed lettering & used decals from funtronics
with very good results.

Rubber
Gaskets, Door Seals, just needed a good cleaning.

|
Replating
Nothing needed to be replated , I polished the crank handle
and stainless parts.

|
|
Coin Mech
Just needed cleaning . The coin mech was replaced with a
15 Cent mech & I don't feel the need to have the proper mech
so i left alone.

Cleaned & repainted

Electrical
I replaced the old wires with new ones.
