- The Vendo V-81 has become a very collectible model as is its sister machine, the VMC-81 . The V-81 was manufactured only for Coca-Cola whereas the VMC-81 was manufactured for a few Soda Brands such as Pepsi, 7-Up, Dr. Pepper and Royal Crown. The V-81 first came out all red with the "Coca-Cola" logo off center. These are referred to as a V-81A. This version is the least common of the V-81's. Shortly after the V-81A, the Vendo 81B came out which had a "centered" "Coca-Cola" logo and was painted with the familiar "White Top". These two versions of the V-81 are frequently called "Small Door" 81's due to the small coin door like on the Vendo V-39 . Later versions of the V-81 had larger coin doors to accommodate a coin changer that would give change if necessary. One feature that has made "Slant Shelf" models popular is that they can vend various sizes and flavors of soda.
