This profile combines preserved company background with evidence from the individual machine records. Dates and model counts refer to documented examples in this collection, not an assertion that the catalog is complete.
Vendo company history
Preserved background
Archive documentation notes that Vendo formed in 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri, is considered the standout manufacturer of soda machines during the 1950's.
Vendo also built coin-operated tops that could be fitted atop the older ice coolers converting them into vendors. In 1956, Vendo acquired Vendorlator and in 1979 relocated to Vendorlator's facility in Fresno, California where Vendo exists today. Vendo only built machines for Coca-Cola.
What the machine archive shows
Evidence by model and date
The dated archive currently runs from Vendo Junior (Late 1930's into the early 1940's) through Vendo V-96-6 (Mid 1970's). It contains 73 model records, 66 with recorded production dates and 69 with surviving model-specific photography.
The documented production footprint is distributed across 1930s (3), 1940s (6), 1950s (10), 1960s (37), 1970s (10). These totals describe this archive—not necessarily the company’s complete output—and will change if additional period records are recovered.

Research note: Profile scope is 73 archived machine records. Company background was independently restated from the site’s preserved manufacturer overview; view the archived source.
