- The Jacobs 35 is almost the same machine as the FL Jacobs 26 except the bottle drum was re-engineered to fit an additional nine bottles and the crank handle was changed. The J-35's crank handle is similar to other machines of this era. Many people associate Jacobs models with that of a "mailbox" and for that they have been nicknamed "Mailbox" soda machines. Because of the design, the J-35 vends from what would appear as the side of the machine but is actually the J-35's front. The loading door is on the side but would be considered the front on most other upright machines.
