Victor company history

Preserved background

is best remembered for manufacturing "Roll Top" counter coolers.

Victor, located in Hagerstown, Maryland, began as a commercial refrigeration builder in the 1920's. Victor also produced a few upright "cup" dispencers in the mid 1950's. It was in 1957 when Victor merged with Narco, Inc. of Chattanooga, Tennessee to become Dixie-Narco, Inc. located in Ranson, West Virginia.

What the machine archive shows

Evidence by model and date

The dated archive currently runs from Victor C-14 (1950's) through Victor 962-L (Early 1960's). It contains 32 model records, 32 with recorded production dates and 26 with surviving model-specific photography.

The documented production footprint is distributed across 1950s (28), 1960s (4). These totals describe this archive—not necessarily the company’s complete output—and will change if additional period records are recovered.

Research note: Profile scope is 32 archived machine records. Company background was independently restated from the site’s preserved manufacturer overview; view the archived source. Dates, photographs, and model counts come from the linked records. Where the preserved evidence is incomplete, the page says so instead of filling gaps with conjecture.
