Ideal Dispensing (Ideal “Slider” Coolers)
History (late 1930s–1960s)
Ideal became synonymous with the “slider” chest cooler—a coin entry releases a gate and you slide the bottle along a rack to the exit. The Ideal 55 debuted in the late 1940s and remained in production for roughly 15 years, with units produced for Coke and many other brands. Coke-embossed 55s were a short run and are hard to find today. Fun-Tronics, LLC
