Jacobs (F.L. Jacobs Company)

History (1930s–mid-1950s)
Jacobs is credited by collectors with building the first upright, coin-operated Coca-Cola bottle vendor, the Jacobs 26 (1937). It vended one bottle per coin with a hand crank, storing a few dozen more in reserve. Jacobs expanded capacities through the 1940s, then faded by the mid-1950s as Vendo and Cavalier took the lead.
